Clare Schwarz
Clinical Director
As the Clinical Director of Ember Health and Disability Services, Clare brings two decades of experience in the mental health and disability sectors. Her journey began with a simple desire to do work that matters, helping people live better lives.
Clare trained as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in the UK, where she also obtained a degree in Mental Health Practice and a master’s degree in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.
With a rich background in supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities and neurodivergent disorders, Positive Behaviour Support was a natural transition for her, as the role allows Clare to weave her broad skill set into the person-centred, holistic approach to care she values.
Outside the office, Clare values her time with family and friends, and since moving from the UK in 2010, she has developed a passion for the Australian outdoor lifestyle.
Emily Whalen
Behaviour Support Practitioner
Emily has a strong background in the mental health and disability sectors having worked extensively in the Ipswich and West Moreton regions. Emily moved to Australia from the United States in 2011 and obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Queensland. She takes pride in being able to build genuine rapport with people of all backgrounds and abilities and leverages this in her work to form meaningful connections with her clients and their families.
Outside work she is an animal lover and enjoys spending time with her family.
